STUDENTS HEAR KING'S MESSAGE FOR BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Key Arts Productions of Philadelphia recently brought the story of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. to area students.
BERKELEY - "I have a dream…" Those immortal words, spoken by the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. recently echoed through the auditorium at Central Regional High School. "King's Dream," a multi-media program by Key Arts Productions of Philadelphia, was presented to juniors and seniors as part of the celebration of Black History Month. The program featured the biography of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the rise of the civil rights movement as told through still photos, new clips and songs.

Beginning with the coming of the slaves to the southern part of the United States, narrator and producer Joe Patterson related events up to and including the civil rights movement and the untimely death of Dr. King. Songs, ably sung by Wendy Grantham

and Antwine Davis underscored the various

events. Some of the songs included "Amazing Grace," denoting the ministry

of Dr. King: Marvin Gaye's "Mercy,

Mercy, Me" and Peter, Paul and Mary's "Blowing in the Wind" representing the

civil rights movement and the song that best describes the struggle for civil rights "We Shall Overcome."
