MONUMENT A GLIMPSE BACK IN TIME
OCEAN COUNTY - Members of the Lakewood High School ROTC stand at attention in authentic military uniforms from several periods in American history during a ceremony in Toms River. The ceremony was being held to dedicate a new monument to Joshua Huddy, a key figure in the Toms River Blockhouse Battle of 1782. Huddy was captured and hung by the British. The new monument stands before a replica of the long since destroyed blockhouse in Huddy Park.
