| MANCHESTER - At the Rotary Club meeting held on January 24, Karin Gaskill and Sue Shannon presented an informative program on the animal shelters located in Jackson and Manahawkin. Sue Shannon is a Manchester resident who is extremely involved with the Volunteer Auxiliary For Animal Shelters Inc. The volunteer auxiliary was founded in 1990 with the goal to increase adoption and decrease the euthanization of Ocean County dogs and cats through spay/nueter programs and home placement. The auxiliary is a non-profit volunteer group attached to the Northern Ocean County Animal Shelter. They are funded by donations and rely heavily on volunteers to fulfill their goals.
