Lakehurst Manchester Rotary Club Announces News

Shown above are President Ken Palmer with Karin Gaskill and Sue Shannon from the Northern Ocean County Animal Shelter.
MANCHESTER - At the Rotary Club meeting held on January 24, Karin Gaskill and Sue Shannon presented an informative program on the animal shelters located in Jackson and Manahawkin. Sue Shannon is a Manchester resident who is extremely involved with the Volunteer Auxiliary For Animal Shelters Inc. The volunteer auxiliary was founded in 1990 with the goal to increase adoption and decrease the euthanization of Ocean County dogs and cats through spay/nueter programs and home placement. The auxiliary is a non-profit volunteer group attached to the Northern Ocean County Animal Shelter. They are funded by donations and rely heavily on volunteers to fulfill their goals. For more information on clinics, adoptions, donations and volunteering, call 732-657-8086 or go to www.volaux.petfinder.com.

The Lakehurst-Manchester and Beachwood- Berkeley rotary clubs are holding their annual Fish and Chips Dinner on March 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Beachwood Fire House, 745 Beachwood Blvd. The dinner benefits scholarships and local charities. Tickets (donations) are $15 for adults and $8 for children under 9. Chicken fingers are also available. So come out and support The Rotary and enjoy a great meal. For ticket purchase, call Ken Palmer at 732-657-3225.
