Ocean County Master Gardeners Seek Volunteers
TOMS RIVER - The Ocean County Master Gardener Program is recruiting students for their 2008 training session, which will begin February 21. Master Gardener interns receive in-depth training in horticulture from Rutgers University faculty and professional staff. Anyone who has an interest in plants and gardening and who is able to commit time to volunteer service qualifies for the course. Classes are held in Toms River at the Agriculture Center, 1623 Whitesville Road on Tuesday and Thursday mornings through the end of April. The cost is $200.
Ocean County Master Gardeners assist Rutgers Cooperative Research and Extension personnel in providing information to the residents of Ocean County. Their volunteer services to the community include the garden helpline, tick identification, plant diagnosis, community outreach events, community liaison programs and speakers' bureau.
If you enjoy learning and sharing your knowledge with others, consider enrolling in the Rutgers Ocean County Master Gardener Program. Call 732-349-1246 for more information.
