TINTON FALLS - The Monmouth County Association of REALTORS® (MCAR) has surpassed its goal of raising $12,000 for homeless veterans in the county.

MCAR raised more $13,000 as part of a matching grant for Vetwork, a program of Vetgroup, Inc., a not-for-profit organization at the Jersey Shore. Vetwork needed the additional funds to buy a van to provide a rapid response with an office on wheels for Monmouth County homeless veterans in need of immediate services. OceanFirst Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Toms River, provided the grant but matching funds were needed. MCAR's Public Relations Committee took on the project and raised the money in two months.

Ellen Kale, president of the Monmouth

County Association of REALTORS® says, "MCAR is proud to have spearheaded the

drive to raise the funds for the homeless veterans. We are grateful to every REALTOR ®, associate and member of the public who helped us achieve our goal."

Paul Kozak, director of Vetwork adds, "We are overwhelmed at the response to the Monmouth County Association of REALTORS® fundraising efforts to provide services to homeless Monmouth County veterans. We are extremely grateful to the people who donated in support of our local veterans."

MCAR kicked off the drive with a $2,000 donation and raised the remaining money with donations from individuals and businesses.
