Christ Evangelical Church To Host Programs
WHITING - Christ Evangelical Church is located at 300 Schoolhouse Road in Whiting between Hilltop and Unity clubhouses.
They invite you to study the fascinating book of Genesis with them on Tuesday afternoons from 2 to 3 p.m. Through ongoing personal stories of real people in history, it teaches us how to properly interact with this almighty but personal God.
Romans has been called the premier document of Christian theology. Explore this book with them and learn why Christians believe as they do Sunday mornings at 9 a.m.
Sunday worship service begins at 10:30 a.m., led by Pastor Gary Luckenbill. There is also a Junior Church during the service for children aged 5 to 12 where they use various media to study the Bible and its values. (Their worship service is preceded with a hymn-sing at 10:15 a.m.).
Every Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. they meet for prayer at the church. On second Thursdays of the month at 4 p.m., there is an in home meeting to pray for the persecuted church in general and specifically for several who have been imprisoned and tortured for their belief in Christ.
Part of our children's ministry is leading an after school Good News Bible Club, an outreach of Child Evangelism Fellowship, on Wednesday afternoons at Whiting Elementary School.
