| MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP - Richard Campana, president of the newly-formed Manchester Township Educational Foundation, presented the foundation's first donation to the Manchester Township School District at the January Board of Education meeting. Campana presented a check for $7,000 to be used for technology equipment to Board of Education President Mary Walter.
Campana said he was thrilled to make what he hopes will be the first of many donations to the school district, now that the foundation is finally officially organized and registered as a non-profit charitable organization. "This is a very special moment after being involved over the past two years in developing this from its infancy," he said. He reported that the foundation now has a full board of directors with all officer positions filled and has a new logo designed by a Manchester High School student Brandon Karkovice.
"It looks like you are off to a very good start," commented Superintendent of Schools Dr. William E. DeFeo. He recognized the foundation board members present at the meeting: Campana, Kathryn Rollo, Marge Camposano and Marthe Konczal. "Manchester is very lucky to have people like you to volunteer like this." Additional board members are Kenneth Palmer, Donna Malloy and Janice Hardell.
The Manchester Township Educational Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to seeking out and providing funding for the purpose of improving the quality of the educational experiences for all students in the Manchester Township Public School District.
