Manchester Township PAL Announces Fishing Derby
MANCHESTER - The Manchester Township Police Athletic League, in conjunction with the Manchester Township Municipal Alliance, will hold this year's Fishing Derby on June 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event will be held at Pine Lake in the Pine Lake Park section of Manchester Township.
The past derbies have proven to be a tremendous success due to the support of the mayor, council, alliance, Public Works and Recreation Department. Volunteers and generous donations from local businesses have made this a great day for their community. The Ocean County Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs is supporting this year's derby as well as in the past three years. The derby sends an educational anti-drug and alcohol abuse message as well as fishing education and fun.
Manchester PAL will provide fishfor children to stock in the lake. This event is for children up to 15 years of age, and there is no fee to attend this event. To register for the derby, you must fillout a standard white index card with your name, address and phone number. You must also include the name and age of the children participating to include the name and number of adults will be attending. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian 18 years of age or older. The completed card can be mailed to Manchester PAL, Attention: Fishing Derby, PO Box 487, Lakehurst, NJ 08733. Cards must be sent no later than May 28.
Attendance and prize availability may be limited, so do not delay your registration. Only one possible prize per participating child is permitted, and that child must be present during the event and drawing to collect the prize.
