Department Of Parks And Recreation Offers Programs
TOMS RIVER - Freeholder John C. Bartlett Jr. announced that the Ocean County Department of Parks and Recreation will be conducting the following programs.
May 16, 10 a.m. to noon - Tennis Clinic and Demo Day. A tennis clinic and racket demonstration will be held at the Ocean County Park and will be conducted by the Ocean Tennis Center of Toms River. The rain date will be May 23. The cost is $10 and new racket demos, refreshments and prizes will be included as well as on-the-court play. Please note level of play and program #183494-1A when registering.
May 20 to June 10, 10 a.m. - Walk the Boards. This is a walking program where walkers will meet at a variety of boardwalk locations throughout the county.
There will be four one-hour walks scheduled. Locations to walk include Point Pleasant, Island Heights, Lavallette and Ocean Gate. The fee is $5 for the series of walks. Please note program # 183534-1A when registering.
May 21 to June 11, 9:30 to 11 a.m. - Doubles Tennis Round Robin. This is a senior doubles tennis program, to be held at the Ocean County Park. The fee is $8 for the season. The program is designed for intermediate through advanced players. Rain days cannot be rescheduled. Please note program #183494-2A when registering.
