MARIE CELESTE CARUSO BRESCIA
Marie Celeste Caruso Brescia, 75, of Manchester, died April 24 at Burnt Tavern Convalescent Center, Brick. Born in Newark, she attended Saint Vincent Academy, which helped her establish her strong Catholic roots. As a young woman, she worked as a legal secretary. On October 2, 1954 she married Victor S. Brescia at St. Francis Xavier Church, Newark. She was married for 54 enjoyable years and resided for 31 years in Point Pleasant prior to moving to Manchester in 2001. She was a loving wife, proud mother and grandmother and devoted sister and friend to many. Her devout relationship with God was her strength. She inspired and amazed loved ones and friends with her tremendous faith. She will always be remembered by her sparkling blue eyes and warm gentle smile.
She is predeceased by her son, John J. Brescia in 1957. Surviving are her husband, Victor S. Brescia; sons, John Brescia of Manchester and Victor W. Brescia of Barnegat; brother, William Caruso of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; and five grandchildren, Leo, John James, Grace, Eve and Victor Douglas.
