Garden State Philharmonic To Hold Independence Day Concert
OCEAN COUNTY - Garden State Philharmonic will be holding their annual Independence Day Concert on July 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ocean County Library in Toms River, 101 Washington Street. Conducted by Anthony LaGruth, the concert will feature your favorite patriotic music to celebrate the holiday.
The 2008/2009 season marks 53 years of music making at the Jersey Shore, as the Philharmonic continues its commitment to tradition and innovation. We often present yesterday's masters alongside today's cutting edge contemporary composers. Under the baton of Artistic Director and Conductor Anthony LaGruth, the orchestra is a cultural gem in Ocean County. They perform at a variety of venues, including Ocean County College, The Strand Theater and Toms River School North auditorium. The GSP, presently the orchestra-in-residence at Ocean County College, has kept pace with the rapid growth of Ocean County over the past 50 years, expanding in size, stature and scope. The society, founded initially as an orchestra association, now encompasses a wide variety of ensembles, including the Garden State Philharmonic, chorus and youth orchestras.
General admission is free and open to the public. Bring your picnic blankets, baskets and chairs for this outdoor event. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
