NJAR® President-Elect Attends Leadership Seminar

NEW JERSEY - New Jersey Association of REALTORS (NJAR®) President-Elect Diane Dilzell, CRS, e-PRO and NJAR® and Executive Vice President Jarrod Grasso, RCE, attended the 2008 National Association of REALTORS (NAR®) Leadership Summit in Chicago, IL. The leadership summit prepares presidentselect and executive officers of state and local associations, commercial boards and structures, regional MLSs, national institutes, societies and councils for their future leadership roles.

Representatives from NAR® provided the association leaders and future association leaders with information on integrating national programs and priorities into state and local association activities and on developing objectives for their new leadership role. Various industry leaders presented on topics such as technology, association leadership and management, industry issues and future trends in business society.

"The summit was an excellent opportunity to interact with REALTOR® association presidents-elect from around the country and share ideas and information about our individual organizations," said Dilzell. "It was also a great forum to learn about what steps I must take to prepare for my role as president of NJAR® in 2009. Without a doubt, I am excited to help move the association forward in its goal to advance the American dream of homeownership."

Dilzell said the two-day event was extremely beneficial. She noted that she found discussions regarding NAR®'s green initiatives to be especially valuable. NAR® introduced many new tools that they will utilize in the months to come that will help REALTORS® meet the needs of consumers who want to make environmentallyfriendly home purchases.

"In an effort to meet the environmentallysensitive needs of our clients, realtors are looking to gain a greater understanding of ecological issues," added Dilzell. "We are also eager to see how we can integrate green practices in our day-to-day business activities. We are excited to bring many of the tools discussed by NAR® to New Jersey in the coming months."
